Harris Security First Responders Scholarship

The Harris Security First Responders Scholarship will be awarded to entering freshman at Troy University, who are the sons or daughters of first responders. (First Responders are defined as current, full-time employees of fire, police, E-911, or EMT organizations who have been employed in their profession for a minimum of two consecutive years.) If the parent (first responder) passed away during active employment (not necessarily on the job) or are retired full time first responders, the dependent would still be eligible. Applicant must also have a 2.5 GPA and be a resident of one of the following counties in Alabama: Butler, Covington, Crenshaw, Dale, Houston, Pike, Henry, Geneva, Barbour, or Coffee. The scholarship sponsor requires a group photo of recipients with a representative of Harris Security if they choose to be present. Selection will be made by the Troy University scholarship committee.
