Dr. Kathy Murphy Leadership Scholarship

Dr. Kathy Murphy graduated magna cum laude from Troy University in 1981 before going on to have a decades-long career in public education. Now serving as the president of Gadsden State Community College, Dr. Murphy has always had a laser focus and commitment to students. In 2019, she established the Dr. Kathy Murphy Leadership Scholarship to assist full-time education majors enrolled in TROY’s College of Education for one or more years. To qualify for this scholarship, students must have a 3.2 GPA and attend classes on the Troy University campus in Troy. Applicants are required to submit a 250 to 400-word essay describing how the scholarship will assist them in continuing their schooling. Recipients must write a letter of appreciation to the donor and attend the annual Scholarship Donor and Recipient Reception.
