Owen Wayne Lewis Memorial Scholarship

The purpose of this scholarship is to assist students pursuing a degree in either Social Work, Human Services, or Hospitality, Tourism, and Event Management on the Troy University campus in Troy, AL. Recipients must have and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5. Recipients must be first-generation college student. Scholarship may be either merit-based or needs-based. Applicants must submit a 250-400 word essay describing their need for financial assistance and the obstacles they had to overcome in order to be the first in their family to attend college. Selection will be made by a scholarship committee composed of the University Scholarship Committee. Recipients are required to write a thank you letter to the donor and must attend the scholarship donor and recipient reception held each March.
